Aside from a being a great method to track and reduce your energy usage in terms of your air conditioner and general temperature control a Smart Home Thermometer could be your homes next upgrade. Keep your home comfy, and take charge over your habits! But, there are a ton of different thermostats out there as more and more people upgrade their homes to smart home standards.
The Nest Learning Thermostat
The nest maintains its spot as number one almost since its launch. It goes above and beyond what you imagine even a smart home thermostat should be able to do.
This is done through using a wide stretch of learning technologies to understand and adapt to your daily lifestyle. While Nest is a little pricey for some at about $250 you can easily see your electric bill reflect that over the course of a few months.
Nest uses a ton of sensors to respond to your movement and what it keeps to maintain your house at the desired temperature. Including what rooms you move in and out of frequently and how long it takes to take your house to the set temperature.
What is great though is that Nest suggests ways for you’re to update your habits or to better use nest to save money. This device is so smart its helping you control your money!
The Lyric Round by Honeywell
Honeywell is a pretty well respected name in home improvement and equipment. It picks up everything through Wi-Fi and keeps itself up to date on the local weather to prepare your home and anticipate changes. The Lyric round is a bit cheaper than the nest but it isn’t missing out on features.
It has a ton of shortcuts and easy to go to settings. The programming and installation is easy to manage and understand too. The three settings can all be controlled from your phone to get the most use out of it!
Honeywell’s Smart Thermostat
This is Honeywell’s prize model of thermostats and for a reason. It is bulkier than most of the other smart thermostats available but it makes up for it in features. Color changing, schedule holding and indoor humidity sensing is only the tip of the iceberg. This thermostat also has really fast response times and alerts all over Wi-Fi and some even with voice function.
This is an international option but for the moment isn’t available in the U.S. But! The Netatmo has a host of options that the U.S. is begging for. Including the feature of the entire device needing a secure press down to change settings. No more accidental swiping with the easy to override touch screens or array of buttons. One hard press and then everything opens up to change.
This is an amazing device but that isn’t to say it comes with a necessarily amazing price. Wiser Air also has learning features however it focuses on an Eco IQ which is intended to reduce your interference with the device as much as possible. Wiser Air is intended to literally be forgotten after installation.
